KHCB train InJAZ students


Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), a prominent Bahrain-based Islamic retail bank, continued to support the youth of the country by providing short term training opportunities for students. Recently, KHCB organized a one week internship training program for four of inJAZ “Company” program students from Shaikha Hessa Girls School during their mid-term break. The well-rounded program organized by the Bank, through its Human Resources department aimed at providing Bahraini youth with an opportunity to get acquainted with Bank’s business and gain knowledge on how the different functions within the Bank operate as well as to see the correlation between what have been learnt in the "Company" program and the real world of work.

Commenting on the training program, Mr. Silvan Varghese, Acting CEO of Khaleeji Commercial Bank said: “The Bank is very pleased to receive Bahraini students and offer them an intensive on-the-job training program in its various departments. Throughout their internship training program, the students gained practical experience that complemented their theoretical knowledge acquired in the “Company program” delivered by InJAZ volunteers.
During the internship, the students attended a one day orientation workshop organized by the Human Resources department in coordination with other departments. The training included topics such as Islamic Banking, Operations, Retail Banking, Treasury and Human Resources. The students later were assigned to different departments in the Bank based on the role they played in the “Company” program.

In addition, the Bank also accommodated twelve students from Hamad Town Boys secondary school in a one day field visit as part of In JAZ program titled the “Job Shadow”. The students attended a series of activities organized by the Bank to familiarize them with the work environment and the various functions at the Bank.
