Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, 15 January 2017: During a press conference held at its headquarters, Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), one of the leading Islamic banks in the Kingdom, announced the launch of the eighth edition of ‘Al Waffer’ Account. Featuring six grand prizes, the new cycle for the year 2017 will exceed the dreams of the bank’s esteemed clients following seven years of unmatched success.

The eighth edition of the ‘Al Waffer’ Account will realize the dream of one lucky customer of becoming a millionaire, with the value of the sixth grand prize to be drawn at the end of December 2017 being 1,000,000 USD. The draws on the six grand prizes will be launched in February 2017, presenting the amount of 200,000 USD to a lucky winner.

In April 2017, one of the loyal ‘Al Waffer’ account holders will win a furnished two-bedroom apartment in the luxurious Amwaj Islands, while the winner of the third grand prize in June 2017 will enjoy a monthly salary of BD 500 for ten years. In August 2017, the fourth Grand Prize winner will receive a luxury Porsche Macan, after which the fifth Grand Prize winner will pocket an amount of 200,000 USD in the month of October.  In addition to these awards, winners of monthly cash prizes will also be announced and rewarded.

In an effort of KHCB to encourage more clients to save and invest with ‘Al Waffer’ Account, the bank’s management has decided to reduce the minimum amount to opening an account and depositing from BD 50 to BD 25, allowing clients to double their chances of winning. The new edition of the program was highlighted during a press conference through a comprehensive presentation on ‘Al Waffer’ Account, how to invest in it and the system for the monthly & grand prizes draws.

Mr. Khalil Ismail Al Meer, Chief Executive Officer of KHCB, said, "The ‘Al Waffer’ account is one of the most successful products offered by Khaleeji Commercial Bank to its clients, given its popularity since its launch seven years ago. Year after year, this product proves its great success thanks to its advantages, in addition to being a safe investment program that provides clients with unexpected profits guaranteed at the end of every year."

Draws in the last month of the seventh edition of the Lifetime Dream Prize awarded the lucky winner a luxury villa, in addition to a Porsche Cayenne and a cash prize of 25,000 USD. In addition to this, 468 individuals won monthly cash prizes.
