KHCB Participates in the 2nd Exhibition for Women and Labour

Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), one of the leading Islamic Banks in the kingdom of Bahrain, participated in the ‘Second Exhibition for Women and Labour’, which was held from the 21st of October to the 23rd of October, 2014 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. The event was held under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and President of the Supreme Council for Women.

The event was organized by the Supreme Council for Women in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour. Princess Sabeeka delegated Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Women, Dr. Shaikha Mariam Bint Hassan Al Khalifa to inaugurate the exhibition, which aimed to provide employment opportunities for female university graduates In the Kingdom of Bahrain.

KHCB participated in the exhibition to interact with the job seekers and inform them about the job opportunities available within the Bank. Representing KHCB at the exhibition was KHCB’s HR team and personal banking staff from the Bank’s department of Commercial Banking.

Mr. Khalil Ismaeel Al Meer, CEO of KHCB, commented on the importance of the Bank having a presence at the exhibition saying: “KHCB has always supported the empowerment of women within society and we are committed to participating in such initiatives which aim to further strengthen the female employment sector. KHCB has always embodied the principle of empowering women to fulfill their important role in society as active participants in further developing the business sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain”.

“At KHCB, we recognize the Bahraini woman’s significant contribution to the development and growth of the labour sector as a whole and we testify to their efforts through our own experience at KHCB. KHCB is sincerely pleased and tremendously proud to be supporting such a morale boosting, ethically right and prestigious event as the Second Exhibition for Women and Labour” he added.

The three-day event aimed to bring together private and government entities and training institutions to highlight job opportunities for women available across a wide range of industries in Bahrain. It offered a platform for skilled professionals to showcase their talent to the private and public sectors as well as provide an opportunity for people with disabilities to meet with potential employers and explore job openings. It also included a special pavilion for female inventors, who presented their inspiring success stories. This unique initiative reflects the Bahraini government’s commitment to fostering efforts aimed at empowering Bahraini women economically and socially.
